Servaces:
We welcome all persons to participate in our services, classes, and events, regardless of the faith tradition, or lack of one, they represent. The core values of Buddhism and the spiritual practice of meditation are conducive to enhancing any other spiritual tradition and its practices. Generally speaking, those unfamiliar with Buddhist practices should plan on attending a Sunday morning service.

When attending a service, we recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that don’t bind in the thighs or knees. Ideally, clothing should be more muted in color so as not to distract.

Sunday Public Service: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Sunday morning service begins at 10 a.m. and lasts one hour. We typically start our service with traditional chanting (Yebul and Maha Prajna Paramita) followed by a 20 to 30 minute meditation period (seated meditation) followed by a Dharma talk (teaching). Lunch is served afterward wherein one can ask questions and meet other people on this path.

Thursday Evening Service: 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Two twenty five minute sittings are interspersed with five minutes of walking meditation followed by communal chanting.

We recommend that you have some previous experience with this meditation before attending this service.

Full Moon Chanting: 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Kido Chanting (way of energy) practice takes place each month on the evening of the full moon from 7-8 p.m. It involves the use of chant as an alternative form of concentration practice. Kido often includes drumming though this is secondary to the goal of concentration.

Precept Ceremony

Essentially a conversion ceremony, it is designed for persons who wish to publicly declare their intention to be guided by the Precepts in their daily lives and interactions with all beings and to acknowledge the Triple Gem - Buddha, Dharma, Sangha - as their refuge.  Participants are given a Buddhist name, a certificate, and a neck mala.

This ceremony, often annually, is offered when interest is sufficient. Please contact us for information and scheduled times.
